Building an understanding of the world in which we live. Discussion is based on the current focus book, which is read in depth over some months, one or more chapters a month depending on length and complexity. We alternate between books on one country or leader and books on global and international issues. The price per book is usually between £7 and £20, and books are purchased in bulk from the Steyning Book Shop. Members are expected to have read the current chapter(s) and be prepared to participate in analysis and discussion. Meetings are held in members' houses where they have the room, and a contribution of £1 each is donated to the host for coffee and (superior) biscuits.
